TMRA Office

Bandra Reclamation, Mumbai, 2020
Commercial

Located off the Bandra reclamation, overlooking the Mahim bay is the office of a real estate consultancy firm TMRA. A quaint, inspiring boutique space was designed using modern New York style industrial elements blended with local furniture and lights. This project offered an opportunity for a sweeping transfiguration of a 15th floor hotel suite room into a rented office space.

The windows offer staggering views of the city skyline letting through beams of warm Mumbai sun, becoming a guiding factor. The workspaces are aligned to frame the views of the city, while maintaining privacy.

Owing to an abundance of natural light in the space, the colours at play are muted akin to the urbanscape. Mushroom grey walls are complemented with the earthy tones off the wooden floor. The rustic industrial story continues through furniture, lights and accessories. Chandigarh chairs with cane weave add a local touch, making the space feel light and malleable while the cushioned grey sofas ground the space. Slick lamps anchor the corners of the room flanked by simple wire frame tables. An embroidered piece of fabric created by the folk women of Kutch adds to the cultural touch while being contemporary. Utilitarian objects in cane, wood and metal surfaces are seen across the rooms for the office purposes. Solid wood tables from teak wood and rubbern wood with black and jute accents tie the space together. A compact, black finished pantry is designed at the back of the room. With its unfussy shelves and well organised sections, this space serves its purpose effortlessly.
