A two-bedroom sea-facing apartment for a young family of three was tailored to bring in a sense of comfort and ease. The soft textures and calming tones of the apartment create a sanctuary of rest and solitude for the inhabitants. Clever customizations and storage units allow the inhabitants to utilize the space efficiently.
The usable wall height was defined clearly with a taupe-shaded rough lime texture, letting the the rest of the wall blend into the ceiling seamlessly in a calming white hue. The blurred edges and corners soften up the space. The cluster of ceramic vases and terracotta bowls on the overhead shelves, the white sofa with pleats and shells with a coffee table of a raw slice of wood, handwoven grey carpet are all reminiscent of a coastal home. The balcony was made of grey slate stone with a small ledge seating overlooking the sea in the west.
The layout was kept well defined and organised to solve the issues of limited functional space and inadequate storage. The bar unit storage and mini fridge are all concealed in the dining cabinet adjacent to the terrazzo dining table with wishbone chairs. The dark wood story continued into the bedroom and the kitchen. Light oak wardrobes with an adjustable study table and pull-out convertible bed make up the one-year-old daughter’s room. The bathrooms were kept well lit with muted grey tiles accented by terrazzo backsplash and smart artwork.
